Darling Harbour Program for renewal
Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is formulating the Darling Harbour Program for Renewal to guide the Authority's work over the short, medium and long term to ensure the public domain is transformed to suit future visitors to the precinct. It is an action plan for the next ten years rather than a master plan and will provide a strong future direction for the precinct. It will ensure that precinct's status as a popular gathering place appealing to all ages continues to be upheld.
Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is preparing the Darling Harbour Program for Renewal to help the Government reach its target of doubling visitor spending. It will draw from a wealth of previous research and studies and work with the Darling Harbour Alliance to develop outcomes and actions for the future. The Department of Finance, Services and Innovation Corporate Plan has identified delivery of the Darling Harbour Program for Renewal as a priority.
The Authority continues to work closely with the Darling Harbour Alliance on activating the precinct during construction and has proposed a complete renewal of the marine structures in Cockle Bay.
