ingleses en la nueva olanda' juan ravenet 1793 (english in new holland, image of a free woman and a marine)How did people live in the early days in the colony of New South Wales? Children take a step back in time to explore the day-to-day lives of convicts, servants, children and wealthy merchants. With a fun exploration of historical buildings, games and genuine artefacts, students can enjoy a hands-on learning experience and gain a real sense of the differences and similarities between then and now.

The children stepping back in time program is set within a fine example of a Georgian style townhouse located in the centre of The Rocks. The program focuses students on how the wealthy Merchant class and their servants lived in early Sydney.

During the course of the program students will be able to play some Victorian style children's games and handle some archaeological artefacts recovered from the area.

To assist you in getting the most out of the program and to maximise the experience for your students, Sydney Learning Adventures has created comprehensive Teacher Resource Packs for each program.
