IMAX redevelopment

IMAX redevelopment proposed design

A proposal to redevelop the IMAX building at Darling Harbour has been approved by the NSW Planning and Assessment Commission. The redevelopment includes a new 20 storey building and a separate two storey building accommodating office, retail and entertainment uses; carparking and bicycle parking spaces; upgrades to the surrounding public domain including a new playground area; and signage zones and display screen on the new building.

  • Entertainment Car Park closure

    The Entertainment Car Park at Darling Harbour is planned to close from Sunday 7 December at midnight (Sunday night) to make way for the new Darling Square development.     SHFA’s adaptive reuse of Australia’s oldest police station at 127–129 George Street, The Rocks, has gained the National Commendation for Heritage in the prestigious 2014 Australian Institute of Architects National Awards. The Authority worked in conjunction with Welsh + Major Architects.
