Corporate Services
The Corporate Services team provides economic and commercial advice and services within the organisation, to external stakeholders and SHFA’s network of customers.
Its responsibilities include Finance, Corporate Affairs, Ministerial Liaison and Corporate Governance. It also manages overall business performance, business systems and analysis, finance and information technology functions through its core functions, including:

- Human Resources and Payroll Services
- Information Technology
- Procurement and Contract Services
Planning Assessment Planing Assessment is responsible for processing development applications. In 2003/2004 it processed 413 development applications. Of these, 85% were assessed within 40 days and the average assessment time was 24 days. The average for NSW Local Government Authorities is 51 days.
Financial Services This team provides user-friendly financial and non-financial reports and analysis to the rest of Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, its executive and Board.
Information Management &Technology (IM&T) Implementing innovative and high-performance technological systems for all Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority functions, processes, locations and departments, is what drives the IM&T unit. It supports the Authority's corporate vision and business goals by ensuring an integrated Information Management and Technology service for stakeholders and visitors. Effectively facilitating information sharing on a wide scale, IM&T also ensures the seamless integration, consolidation and merging of existing systems, while also considering new and changing business requirements when necessary.
This unit also ensures the Authority's IM&T strategic direction is in accordance with the Government's Information & Communications Technology (ICT) priorities and other initiatives including ConnectNSW, NSW Government Telecommunications Strategy, ICT Skills Action Plan, E-procurement, Electronic Security and Shared Corporate Services Strategies.
Human Resources Upholding the Authority's values of integrity, teamwork and pride in fulfilling promises, HR's focus is on implementing human resource strategies and programs that provide employees with opportunities to grow their technical, organisational and behavioural competencies.
HR is committed to driving a high performance culture that supports the needs of the business, its stakeholders and the wider community. Key HR areas include recruitment, learning and development and employee services, with these functions governed by the corporate objectives of the Authority as well as wider public sector policy and guidelines.
E-Services Primarily responsible for the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority internet and intranet, the E-Services team delivers e-business solutions to its business divisions and key stakeholders by developing web-enabled technology to automate business processes.
Effecting online modules in areas such as procurement, records management and online learning, E-Services continually look for new and improved ways to automate existing systems, making them sufficiently interactive, user friendly and inviting for end users to want to either access or contribute to the information it holds.
Board Secretariat, Administration and Records This unit provides daily executive secretariat services to Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority's Chairman and Board, as well as those for the Luna Park and Cooks Cove Development Corporate. It also manages the Authority's administrative functions, with the provision of administrative policy, infrastructure, advice and support to the Board, CEO, Executive Directors, Managers and staff.
Procurement Services Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority's Procurement Services group provides professional procurement and purchasing services to the organisation. Its responsible for the establishment and maintenance of long-term supply agreements with suppliers of a range of goods and services. These include: facility maintenance related goods and services such as mechanical and other trades, operations service providers, such as security and cleaning, and utilities. The group also processes requests for tender and quotations (RFT/RFQ) for major projects, such as construction work.
Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority uses robust procurement processes based on the NSW Government Procurement Policies and Guidelines. These processes ensure that our procurement activities meet the key objectives of value for money, efficiency and effectiveness, probity and equity and effective competition.
The Procurement Services group uses advanced systems including an online requisitioning system and the Timberline Purchasing and Service Maintenance Modules. These facilitate the efficient processing of transactions and reduction costs for SHFA and its suppliers.
